I have significantly slowed down pattern testing in an effort to catch up in life. So I’ve been super selective in choosing tests these days. But since we all know I have a love for hoodies, I couldn’t pass this one up for little miss Emma. This is the Be Creative Hoodie from Ellie and Mac.
It features a color blocked front and back bodice with optional (faux) piping. The crossover hood with grommets and grommet patches is a super cute detail!
Because there are guidelines on drawstrings on kids clothes, the pattern does not call for one. So most of the testers added a small “drawstring” that is sewed down/knotted behind both grommets. You can see a little bit of it in the above left photo.
I also made her a Christmas version since I had some of this amazing snowflake print left from my DIBY.club Babe hoodie that I wrote about here. This was the first version in testing before it was decided that drawstrings shouldn’t be prescribed in the pattern.
The adorable gorgeous floral and snowflake fabric is from The Styled Magnolia Custom Fabrics. I’ve already stated before that I love her cotton lycra. But everytime I work with it, I love it more. It’s so perfect for kids clothing. For my solids I got them all from Purple Seamstress. Her solids are so great and you can’t beat the price and shipping time!
This is such a cute kids hoodie – I love the fit of it!!
