Ellie & Mac Cold Shoulder Top

I love getting to experience pattern testing with new companies! This was my first test with Ellie and Mac and I really enjoyed how smoothly testing went.  It’s so fun to learn from different groups and experience different styles of pattern drafting.  Since I have been really trying to focus my sewing on maternity clothes, this was a perfect test.  The new Cold Shoulder Top features drawstrings at the side seams for a fun, cinched look.  Or you can loosen the drawstrings completely and have a sexy little mini dress.

I made this top out of Double Brushed Poly from So Sew English.  Since my due date is towards the end of winter, this will be a perfect top to get me through the colder days.

I haven’t made a top with cinched sides like this before, so it was fun learning how to do that.  And I love the extra room it provides for belly growth! The top has several sleeve lengths, and hem lengths.  There is also an option to add a band, which was really cute from seeing the other tester pictures.37638101_10113429323894144_4409747217494048768_oBaby is growing! I’m at 14 weeks now 🙂 Not too much longer until we get to find out if I’ll be sewing for another baby girl or if I need to expand my boy pattern collection!
