Boho Babydoll by Patterns for Pirates

You guys know those style of tops that you just don’t think will look flattering on your body type? I’m sure you do.  So let me tell you when this pattern popped up in our tester group I was sure I was going to pass. BUT something told me not to. Since I have been sewing, I have realized that if you measure yourself correctly and know to adjust a pattern for your body type then homemade always fits better than store bought. So I thought that maybe if I made it, it would look better than anything like it I’ve tried on in stores.  So I applied and I am soooo glad I did. I *absolutely* love the way this dress fits me.  Meet the Boho Babydoll!

The curved bodice is a super sweet detail that I think is flattering on lots of body types.  For this dress I used rayon spandex with a stretch lace overlay.  Picking your fabric correctly is crazy important for this dress so be sure to read the requirements in the pattern tutorial! IMG_1248edit.jpg

And y’all! Look at my gathers! Gathers are not one of my fortes.  They take practice – lots of practice. I actually gathered this one with my serger and I love how it turned out.IMG_1263editIMG_1284edit

I hope you guys love this as much as I do! It’s a really simple, quick sew with a super cute outcome!!

Go grab the Patterns for Pirates Boho Babydoll while it’s on sale!
