The Draper Polo: Sewing for my Man

Y’all life has been crazy.  I haven’t posted since Halloween. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been sewing!  I had the pleasure of testing the Draper Polo from Wardrobe by Me and I loved doing it. My husband thinks I spend too much on fabric but he was pretty excited that I made him something that he would actually wear!  IMG_0074

The fit came out perfect. The hardest part for me was the front button placket and the collar but with some patience and seam ripping I finally got the look I wanted.

I also love that the side seam has a vent. I felt like it made the polo look “less homemade”. Not that homemade is bad but I like when those little details that you find on store bought clothes are included in a pattern.

The fabric I used was this Pique from fabric.com and I love the way it feels. It reminds me of his athletic feeling golf shirts that breathe well and aren’t too hot.

He has worn it several times so that is a huge compliment to me – especially since it’s winter here!!  I was super excited for this sew and hope to make him more in the future!
