Once Emma and I debuted matching outfits, there was no going back. I’m not obsessed with us matching at all, it’s just that, well yeah, I am. It’s so fun. And, how long is she going to want to match me? Probably not forever. So I’m going to eat it up while I can.
Because of my height, I have NEVER been successful at buying a ready to wear romper. I have not tried on one romper that hasn’t given me camel toe. So attractive… So I bought the M4M Mama Lea. I love the simple dolman style top and that it has the options for pockets. I also love that it has the option for a dress or tunic! M4M has several rompers but I have to mention, I am always looking for something I can wear a normal bra with. I despise strapless bras – and yes I have tried them all. My girls just don’t stay up. I digress…I was so excited to get started on this project. I ordered a double brushed poly from Surge Fabric Shop from Etsy specifically with this romper in mind. This romper was really quick to whip up. It was my first time working with double brushed poly but I found it to be very nice to work with. The only hang up was trying to get the settings right for my double needle. I ended up needing a top tension of about 8 and changed my bobbin tension to be very loose. I have since purchased a new bobbin case so I don’t have to keep screwing and unscrewing my bobbin screw for different stitches. I can just replace the whole case.Emma’s romper is one of my favorites. I know there is a love hate relationship out there for the Brindille & Twig harem coverall, but after a few adjustments, it has come to be one of my favorite things for her. I love that there are no snaps. Many think this makes for a difficult diaper change but I have found it to be quick and easy. I know it’s comfortable for her with no closures, elastic or pulling over the head!
